What is counselling and psychotherapy?

​The world is going through a difficult time at the present moment creating a lot of uncertainty and anxieties due to Covid-19. 

Counselling and psychotherapy is a professional and confidential therapeutic relationship where people meet face-to-face either in person or online via Skype, Zoom or over the telephone to discuss, explore and get help with issues that are concerning the client.  

A lack of clarity and uncertainty often brings anxiety. The aim of counselling - psychotherapy is to help the client to live more fully in difficult times. Counselling and psychotherapy aims to enable the client to become confident enough to choose a particular course of action.

Counselling and psychotherapy are umbrella terms that cover a range of talk therapies and delivered by trained practitioners who work with people on a short or long term to help bring about effective change and enhance well-being. (BACP).
