Individuals:

Individual counselling or psychotherapy is when a client and the therapist meets in a safe, comfortable space that is confidential, free from interruptions or being overheard. We will meet once a week or more depending on the your needs at the same time and place.  The counselling sessions could be short- term up to six sessions or, on an open-ended basis. This will form part of our contract togehter which will set out the parameters of our work. In some instances I offer the first session free, please inquire when contacting me if this offer is available.
Couples:

My experience of working with families and couples spans many years and in different settings. In couples counselling both partners will as the sessions develop begin to listen, communicate and hopefullly make sense of what has gone wrong in their relationship. As the therapist  I will facilatate this process whilst being impatial. It is the relationship, rather than the two individuals that essentially is the ‘client’ which, will provide the focus of our work togehter. This will be in a confidential space at the same time and place once a week. Together we will form a workable contract which will provide the frame and safety for all participants.

In some instances I can offer the first session half price. Please inquire when contacting if this is fee is available.
Students:

I appreciate how financially difficult it can be for some or most students setting off on the journey of becoming a counsellor/therapist. With this in mind I offer a sliding scale to students looking for a therapist or clinical supervisor. The space/consulting rooms I use (www.terapiaconsultancy.co.uk/) are very conducive, conveniently accessible in a well-lit area, for providing safety traveling to and from the venue and the therapeutic/working alliance.

I offer the first session ‘free’ to students who are looking for therapist as a way of assessing whether we are a right fit to begin working together.

Groups:

Groups may vary in size. The group members explore similar difficulties common to them all and discuss their feelings and emotion together, helped by one or more counsellors, depending on the size of the group.

Common difficulties of group discussions included bereavement, eating disorders, depression, anger problems, relationship difficulties and other issues we all face in some point of our lives. The minimum number of group participants is 4. These groups can be single sex or mixed groups. Once the group has been formed and a contract devised the group will be a closed group for a specified lenghth of time. New members will to a closed group will first have an assessment prior to joining and only join the group if and when a member has completed their sessions or decided to leave.
